I wanna be singer and was obsessed with that dream forever. But whenever I sing I hear myself and my voice seems weak like I don't have any "control" I feel so out of breath when I sing. But whenever I record myself I Listen back and my voice sounds amazing like I'm listening to someone else on the radio. Very big mature controlled voice. I have done tones of covers for YouTube..and have original songs..hoping to built a small career out of this..but is this how I really sound? Or fake? Btw others have confirmed I was good in person..also hoping to get lots singing lessons

If you have a crappy microphone, then no.

But let's talk about your voice first. If you feel out of breath when you sing, then you're certainly not breathing correctly. You need to work on that first before you venture out.

As for your voice sounding differently, is your singing voice the same as your speaking voice? If you artificially make your voice big, that's very detrimental to your vocal health. A good example is Christina Aguilera. Her voice is so light and kind of tinny, but when she starts singing, she lowers her larynx down to make her voice bigger, and look at where she is vocally now.

Since you are considering lessons, it's best to go for them. You can never go wrong with a great vocal coach.

It ALWAYS sounds DIFFERENT, because now you are hearing your voice from outside your skull and WITHOUT any resonances from the bones of your skull. Besides, small recording device like that have both BAD recording and BAD playback quality anyway.

The ONLY TRUE and HONEST feedback comes from a fully trained vocal teacher during an OFFLINE one-on-one audition. NO-ONE is a born singer! ALL you need to be able to do beforehand is the ability to carry a tune and the rest will follow during LESSONS.

I think it is pretty damn close. At least is better than what they call HD in the television. I don't find HD is even close to the real thing. But sound is much easier to capture. But it really depends on the device. I don't know the true answer. It is all relative. How close is good enough.
