You said money is not a problem, But it could be going up well into the thousands. If that's still not a problem then...

Get some studio mics. You probably want a set of drum mics if you ever want to make drum beats and not have to use a digital program. You'll normally have around four mics at the least, up to eighteen. It just depends, but four mics is more then enough. Three is all you need really, but you can double up the bass drum better quality, one condenser and one normal mic. You also need some condenser mics for in studio work. with singing and mic-ing a guitar/bass. A lot of bassist record directly in, but you want find many guitarist who would rather go straight in to a computer instead of through an old valvestate amp first.

Next up is a mixer. The bigger the better.

A lot of cables, XLR, 1/4, USB, Etc. All of that crap. Have fun finding out what you need. Don't forget the power supplies, and Condenser mics normally need their own supply as well.

Keyboard. Nice keyboards can do anything.

Synths, Get some moogs and you can get the best tone possible.

Condensers, For the vocals to go into.

Software. You need a lot of programs, from programs to organize recordings, fixing tones, fixing pitches, organizing scores, recording, mixing, mastering, editing, etc. You can never have enough programs.

Hardware. You will be needing a lot of plug ins for your computer.

Non-digital recording equipment.

Egg crates. Why? Because recording stuff in a bedroom full of furniture and dirty clothes sounds like ****. You need to get good acoustics, That's why you always hear about people singing in a bathroom and recording it.

Nice instruments. You need variety, Les Pauls for something heavy, Strats for something nice and clean, Ibanez guitars with EMG's for something perfect sounding. J and P style basses, Orange amps, Marshal amps, Mesa amps, The list is endless and you get what you pay for. A nice Les Paul is around $3,000, A nice Marshal is even more.

If you can get all that stuff together, Not only would you have the best recording studio possible, but you could even work as an audio engineer recording other people for a lot of money.

You might also want to invest in some text books. This stuff is hard to learn to use. Check out the link, they sell a lot of the equipment you will need there.

you already, have a pc use the software that you can find on the net. look at 16 track recording as this will help.

look at the type of formats used in the studios up and down the country.

look at midi, cd, dvd. mp plus wave as they all bring out different good and bad things when you use them,

learn the art of delay, as all recording are different.

what will i need.

amps of sorts, mixers good software,cd and dvd recorder, 16 + track system good editing software.

good cabling and connectors with gold plated plugs.

good editing deck

when you talk money is not a problem,.

30-50 thousand should do to start of.

or build it up slow and get a good amount of gear for under 5000 pound

and most of all someone who can mix music and sound as this is an art.

you need:

mic's (everyones different. i use shure 57's and 58's, you'll find your choice)

a way to mix / master

theres lots of choices here.

i use a 16 chan mixer and keep my mics plugged in for drums, guitars, keys and bass and a line for my PC (software/effects)

run that into an8 channel multitracker...mix/master and dump and convert to media...(usually MP format)

my set up ran about $2500..
