I'm Puerto Rican...I have tan skin. Not too light not too dark. And before it was only wishful thinking but now I've been getting my hopes up all over again, because of YG. They accepted a black trainee at their recent world audition. I wanted want to audition with two other friends. Are there any precautions i should take..? And could I have some info. about YG? I've been told YG beauty standards are 5 and up, and I think I exceed that (sorry if i sound stuck up..) And are first impressions important. I'm also learning Korean. I am fluent in Spanish and English. I have also been practicing my dancing rapping and singing skills. Can someone list positives and negatives about this entertainment? Especially towards foreigners. (That are not asian) I don't have the guts to go to SM because beauty standards are told to bee high there and I don't think they are excepting foreigners just yet. (due to their old Global Audition slogan. "Whether your Chinese, Japanese, etc." something like that. Oh and please be kind about it...will they teach me in all departments (singing, rapping, and dancing) if I request it? What about korean, learning more about the Korean culture, etc...? Will we be put in dorms with other trainees..? What if we're seperated? What should i expect if I try out? Will i be put into an international school? Will the company pay for plane tickets and stuff? Thank you! :)

Okay hello there !

I'm Indonesian still part of Asia I also have tan skin , but I just wanna told you the "black girl" trainee she is lee Michelle , even though she's black girl but she is HALF KOREAN she has an Asian blood in her DNA . She is also fluent in Korean and she has an incredible voice she got in with her group supearls and will debut this year they are from sbs kpop star which is YG it self is one of the judges along with JYP and BoA , so she got huge chances . But I'm not saying that you can't , I mean like why not? Right?! But once again this is KPop it's an Asian industry a Korean music industry so at least you must be 1/4 or 1/2 Asian . But yeah you still should try ! ;)

The positives about YG , a lot they're more open to their artist they just more to be giving them support advice training time money kind of thing cause just look at big bang gd produces almost half of their song and he will be the main producer of the new girl group debut in January next year and they also not look at your appearances they're looking for PURE TALENT but still YG ever said he's not trying to be racism but your chance to get in if you're not Asian just about 2-10% .

The negatives about YG , ... Not all of their artists is as success as SM like gummy etc also I think they out of their mind nowadays just look at their trainees Jenny Kim = already grown haters this fast cause her pronountiation thing and the fact that YG pick her because of her looks , eunbi = her voice is such a standard , euna = not really bad but her rap is pretty annoying , lalisa is the only one that was amazed me (she's the one that dance who's that girl)

Ps = YG had one Chinese trainee and the others are Korean and a few of mix bloods

Yes they will teach you singing dancing rapping acting instrumental modeling personality languages everything you will adapt with Korean culture by your self cause you live in Korea somehow you'll understand the culture

You will be put in a dorm of 3-5 trainees and has one person in charge of you and your dorms mates like when you want to make a call to your parents take care of your visa etc

Yes they'll put you in KENT if you Want to be in the international school SOPA if you want to try your hangul luck ;)

Still not sure but they'll pay for your expenses when you become the official trainee but tickets still ... I'm not sure

you should be optimism !!! Nothing is impossible you know ;)

As a trainee you will receive a rounded education (singing, dancing, rapping, etc.) but what you concentrate on will probably be up to the company,

You will definitely be taught Korean and Korean culture but it will be your ability to learn both and fully assimilate it that will rest on your chances of debuting.

You will share dorms with other trainees of your same gender. Separated? If you mean separated from the opposite gender, yes. Trainees will come and go so you will constantly be separated from people you know.

You should expect the judges to be bored. Most likely they've seems hundreds of thousands of hopeful auditions just like yours. You need to be unique and talent and show all of that charisma and charm in the first 10 seconds of your audition or risk loosing their attention.

Depends. I hear some agencies have tutors too.

No. Unless explicitly stated or a legitimate representative for the company tells you otherwise, they DO NOT pay for anything until a contract is signed. If you think of it, say they express interest in 50 people each year. 50 times the price of plane tickets and accommodations (easily $3,000) is way too much for a company to put down for a group of people they will most likely never debut and make money off of.

I heard they've -one- african american trainee at YG....However howdy who knows if thats proper or not. Idk. If you met with the producer, then i think you have got a good danger. If i had been you, i might go audition in character considering that its waaay higher to try this, as an alternative of a web based audition. However on the other hand, YG has a fame of "only choosing persons for skill, and that they dont rather care about appears" thats what i hear alot....
