Assuming I have no singing talent. I do have music talent, I don't know if that counts for anything when it comes to singing. I play guitar, clarinet and a bit of piano. but not really piano or guitar, mostly clarinet. I was wondering how many years till I sounded decent.

Years and years of practice. 5 years of hard work is the first step of becoming good singer, then other 5 years of even harder practice will make you excellent singer.

Depends on your instructor and your dedication. With a good coach, you will see improvement in a matter of months, 1-2 years to be decent, and a lifetime for mastery. Even modern singers still learn today even after performing for most of their lives.

Even then, when comes down to the dirt, it really all depends on the individual.

Yep that V/Crusader tells it like it is as usual.

You never stop learning because as you age so does your body and therefore your larynx, so we need to make those adjustments every year.
