Question:
Setting up mic stand ?

So I bought a Tzumi Reverb Pro desktop mic stand, and the photo below shows where I’m supposed to connect the parts, however, they don’t connect. I have looked all over the internet, and ironically, this is the only mic stand I cannot find a tutorial on, nor is this company anywhere to be found. I bought it at a staples and it’s driving me nuts. Also, there were no instructions on how to ensemble it, trust me, I looked.

It looks like the top of the stand base has a collet at the top, that grips the inner telescopic part.

Loosen that and give the base a shake upside down - the inner rod should slide out. If it will not, remove the collet sleeve completely so you can get hold of the inner and pull it part way out, before refitting the collet sleeve.

Take it back to where you bought it and have them tell you how to set it up.

I believe Robert J is correct.  It looks like a shorter version of a standard floor model mic stand. The upright part of the stand is a hollow tube with one section that slides up and down inside the outer one. There is a collet (or hand grip) at the top which locks the inner pole at the height you select.  You can loosen the grip  by turning it counter-clockwise. It looks like the inner post had dropped all the way down inside the other one.  When you get it out, it should be more clear how the mic holder (in your hand) attaches.  It will typically either be threaded, or click down over the post.

1. Loosen the hand grip by turning it counter-clockwise

2. Turn the entire stand upside-down.  Hopefully, the inner post will slide out.

3. If the post doesn't drop down, you may be able to push it through from underneath.  The main (outer) post is probably threaded into the base.  Some bases have a hole that goes entirely through.  If not, you'll have to unscrew the post from the base.  Then you can push the inner post with a pencil or similar implement.

I'm not familiar with that particular stand.  The bit in your right hand is the microphone cradle and that screws onto the top of the stand.  From the picture it looks as though you have to turn the top of the stand to make the threaded stud come up.
