because of the grating nature of death metal singing it is pretty much impossible to not have a sore throat after wards, however drinking down some lemon juice right before you go onstage should help a bit and might prevent you from damaging your vocal chords, which is what you really want to avoid

Before you start singing take a bar of hershey's chocolate and let it melt in your mouth (ONLY SWALLOW ONCE IT'S MELTED!) It'll create a sort of coating on your throat so it won't hurt as much, but it does take a little bit of time. No joke, this works! Also, drink a lot of water during or before and after songs.

Basically if you cant sing(and think you can) you can do death metal with out your voice hurting.

i dont know about singing death metal, but when i was in chorus in 6th grade my music teacher said drinking milk right before is good. never tried it out myself but maybe that'll help. btw she was a really good singing coach.

well i inhale can you talk while breathing in it dosnt hurt as much but after a while any way will hurt i suggest hot liquids after you lose your voice it happens to me lol :)
