*have true talent, unless your drop dead gorgeous than you dont really need that

*write your own songs, your not going to have a full on career with cover songs,

*learn how to play possibly the piano or guitar, not always required but helps out tons, espeically to write your own songs,

*most important Get Noticed! just singing in your room is not going to let people know who you are, make a myspace music page, a youtube account, possibly make your own demo cd and send it to your local radio station or any radio station, try to sing on stage whenever possible,

Good Luck, stay true~

Um... it's a process that doesn't exist. This is a bit of a hard truth, but here we go: In short, it's not going to happen. No matter how much you practice and how good you are, becoming famous takes an incredible amount of luck and circumstances that you, quite frankly, have zero control over. If you want a shot at all, get good at an instrument and start/join a *good* band (and when I say good, I don't mean you and your friends. You may have to work with people you don't know very well, so once you learn an instrument go to open mic nights at coffee houses and talk to other performers there...). Then appear everywhere you can. It'll be a long, painful and tiring process (I'm talking YEARS.) and then maybe (MAYBE) you'll be able to work your way up from label to label.

Honestly it makes me a little sad to see so many good people like yourself on Yahoo! Answers, hopeful for a career in the hardest industry in the world to even survive in.

If you want to become a better singer, improve your singing voice and are considering an online course I strongly recommend this site:

http://howtosing.toptips.org

I am big fan of this online singing course. You can watch a video more times until you can grasp each concept. Even if the program runs on a 10-day period, you can spend more or less, depending on your own pace. All the guides and tools included in this program are designed by professionals. This means you will learn transitions, changes and voice modification techniques like a pro! It comes with a plethora of exercises, allowing you to improve any aspect of your voice.

It definitely the best alternative to expensive lessons with vocal coaches. Try it and you'll see great results!

my boyfriend is currently in a bachata (Hispanic genre) group. Today he got into one from another artist so they're working together. As I'm answering this question, he's performing on stage.

Basically you'll need some skills with studio equiptment or someone who knows how to work with it all, support, and be prepared to work hard. Becoming famous takes years though.

Try to perform at local community activities, clubs, or anything public with alot of people.

My boyfriend travels all around MD to different clubs and such. Put yourself on YouTube, get some photography done, make a CD. I'm telling you now though.. It's not easy at all! You'll probably end up performing every week at many different locations.

Now that my boyfriend is in this new group, he's going to Dominican republic, puerto rico, Massachusetts, new York, California, Florida, el Salvador, and many other places.

So basically alot of traveling is also required to get yourself heard.

There is way more to this though. If my bf wasn't busy at the moment I'd let him tell you!

It's very possible to learn to sing well. You just need to know the right methods. Learn here https://tr.im/kbwHc

Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing.

Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/jaSVf

Its no where near that simple! Many people have to do years of vocal training/work, then perhaps find an agent and prepare a demo with a good musical production team who are willing to let you use their recording studio!

If you want to sing, dont do it for fame, because there are thousands of great singers across the land who we dont hear on tv. Theyre doing this because they enjoy siniging! Its a passion, or a craft, i wouldnt do any job purley for fame!

There are many ways to become famous. There are famous athletes, famous politicians, famous cooks, famous artists, famous musicans, famous actors, and more. This article focuses on how to become famous in the entertainment industry.

Even in the narrow field of entertainment, there are millions of aspiring actors, but only a handful of famous ones. So how do you become famous? The answer is: You must become outstanding at your craft. That requires training, experience, and persistence. Beyond that, picking a memorable stage name helps.

Stage names have a long history. People used stage names for all sorts of reasons -- to become memorable, to hide their real identity, or because their real name sounded ridiculous or was unreadable. People have also changed their names because their real name sounded similar or was identical to some other famous person. For instance, Ray Charles was originally Ray Robinson, but there was already a famous boxer named "Sugar" Ray Robinson, which was also a stage name.

People that were part of the American Vaudeville era used stage names to hide their immigrant backgrounds. Ironically, at about the same time, many ballet dancers changed their English names to sound Russian. More often, people anglicized their names, or made them sound English. Here are some examples: Freddie Mercury, the lead singer from the rock group Queen, was originally called Farrokh Bulsara. Bob Dylan started as Robert Zimmerman. Rodney Dangerfield's real name was Jacob Cohen. Vikki Carr was born Florencia Bisenta de Casillas Martinez Cardona. Mel Brooks was Melvin Kaminsky. And Woody Allen's original name was Allen Stewart Konigsberg.

These days, people change their names or use stage names just to be memorable. Did you know that Marilyn Monroe's original name was Norma Jean? Why is the name "Marilyn Monroe" better? Her new name uses a poetic device called alliteration -- the use of similar repetitive sounds. Here are some other examples of names that benefit from the use of alliteration: Robert Redford, Alan Alda, Billy Bragg, Billy Baldwin, Ozzy Osbourne (originally Jonathan Michael Osborne), Hulk Hogan (who was born Terry Gene Bollea) and a whole score of animated characters like Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. So, using alliteration in your stage name can make you more memborable.

Then there are the single word names, which were very cool in the 80's, like Prince. Madonna. Sting. But they're still in use today; Usher (real name is Usher Raymond IV) and Seal (originally Sealhenry Olusegun Olumide Samuel) uses one. Perhaps Twiggy - born Leslie Hornby -- did it first in the 60's. Of course, Cher - born Cherilyn Sarkisian - was doing it in the 70's too. You can still consider a single word handle today. It will make you stand out from the regular two-named people.

Of course, another trend is the three-word name: like Sarah Jessica Parker. Other famous three word names are: "Sugar" Ray Robinson (born Walker Smith, Jr.), Anna Nicole Smith (born Vickie Hogan) and James Earl Jones (originally Todd Jones).

Still, some people put a "the" somewhere in their name, like wrestlers Jesse "the body" Ventura and Tony the Tiger. Others add a cute word, which is not ordinarily even a name, to their name. Some examples: like Cat Stevens (born Steven Demetri Georgiou), Juice Newton (originally Judy Cohen), Courtney Love (started as Courtney Michelle Harrison), Billie Holiday (was Eleanora Fagan Gough) and Adam Ant (began as Stuart Leslie Goddard).

Of course, you can't ignore some of the hip-hop names that have emerged as well: Snoop Dogg (originally Cordazer Calvin Broadus), P. Diddy (originally Sean John Combs), Big Boi, Biggie, Bo Diddly (Ellas Bates, later Ellas McDaniel), and Ice-T (born Tracy Marrow).

So what is the future of stage names? Perhaps the most avant-garde type of stage names are actually the ones that contain numbers. The most famous are 2Pac (originally Tupac Shakur) and 50 Cent (who was Curtis Jackson.) Then there is Tech N9ne (born Aaron D. Yates.) Maybe I'll change my name to 3ric wo1fr4m.

So pick a professional name that people can remember. You don't need to legally change your name to have a stage name, although plenty of celebrities eventually change their name to adopt their stage name, not all of them do that. Most importantly, work at your craft. A good stage name will only help you if you're already excellent at acting, singing, or modeling.

Well..first off, you dont need to have a good voice, you need to be able to pretend you can play an instrument, write crappy lyrics, and find a dirtball manager with friends in the music biz.Of course be ready to give him 70 percent of what you make.Just look at the Jonas Bros.and Miley Cyrus.HA

you can record in studios anytiem you dont have to be famous.. so make up some songs record them send them around to radio stations get a myspace try get some fans and arrange your own gigs and stuff and hope someone will see you. you could also try leaflets and stuff to get people to come to shows and then try and get big from that you also have to have a thick skin to take the critics and stuff and the deterimations to do it.

get anorexia, die your hair blonde, make some youtube videos and send them to record companies desperate for kids that can be put in the next boyband (or girlband if you're a girl).

Talent hardly seems to come into it these days, if you can't sing they just replace your voice with someone elses (or a computer).

If you can sing, it may actually be harder...

Audition for bands that perform locally. Gain experience.

Use that to audition for bands that perform in a larger area. Hope they get spotted by real talent scouts.
