Audio Interfaces do not typically have guitar and vocal effects built into them. However, the software that comes with some of them often does. So, I would suggest that you take a look at the NEW Avid Mbox audio/midi USB interface which comes with Pro Tools. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdUgXvMhWsA. http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Avid-Mbox-3-Mini?sku=H14107 - I record using an Mbox and Pro Tools and I still find that it's best to have an external effects processor to record through for the highest quality sound recordings. I have a BOSS GT-10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtdfQIZhq7g - for the guitar and I use a BOSS VE-20 for vocals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOL18Dhgvjo - You just can't beat them for sound quality. If you are on a budget, the BOSS ME-25 works just as well with fewer effects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvhaKPOuRxo

the final thank you to respond to this question is, in case you desire to checklist vocals and piano on the comparable time, you will need an audio interface (which some mixers have) that would checklist 2 separate channels (one for vocal, the different for piano) concurrently. There are mixers that would try this like the alesis multimix, and maximum sound taking part in cards have a minimum of two channels, even get entry to point audio interfaces like the focusrite 2i2. So it is not incredibly "mixer vs audio interface", because of the fact a mixer does not have any distinctive reward in this state of affairs, and a few comprise an audio interface with multitracking (recording greater advantageous than one channel one after the different, on the comparable time) purposes. desire that enables, stable good fortune!
