This is going to sound like a stupid question but whats the difference between omni-directional and uni-directional with microphones? Which is better for vocals? I am an amateur rapper and am buying a new mic and I know to buy a condensor.

cheers

Omni directional mics pick up sound from all around them while uni-directional pick up sound from a certain point, right in front of them.

Since you will be doing vocals a uni-directional mic would work better, since you don't need any other sound around you getting picked up

Well, you sound like maybe you've gotten some bad advice. It depends on the application. For live shows a dynamic mic is preferable to a condenser. Condensers are, however, better for recording and studio work. So, which one you want depends on how you plan to use it. E-mail me if you have more specific questions. I live for this stuff and good advice can save you a lot of money.

quite straightforward. Its pronounced as a non directional beacon reason it transmits a non directional sign. each and every of the direction looking is finished on the receiver or ADF. the reason it fairly is no longer pronounced as a omni-directional beacon is by using the fact it does not transmit alerts on each and every degree in my view. i.e 360 tiers, which a VOR does. in case you be attentive to how a VOR works you may desire to understand my clarification.
