I am auditions for 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown' next week. The audition flyer said make sure to choose a song that 'shows character.' I'm pretty sure that my best bet would be to go with something from a musical. I don't know any songs sung by men, though. What are some? I'm a bass, but I'm sure I could work with anything.

Reviewing the Situation from Oliver is a GREAT male character song - act out the words and it's so funny!

Otherwise Marion the Librarian or Trouble are good ones from the Music Man

Any song from Grease is always a good choice. Or even a song from the Musical Music Man, or even Oklahoma. Tjose are three extremely popular musicals that everyone knows. Good Luck.

"Ol' Man River" from "Show Boat"

Great, great song...plus it "must" be done by a bass.

"If ever I would leave you" is a great song. I think it's from Camelot.
